Sex Assault Suspect Followed Victim Home From Valley Gym: LAPD

VALLEY VILLAGE, CA — Police are seeking the public’s help identifying a man accused of following a woman home from a gym and sexually assaulting her in the San Fernando Valley.

The man approached the victim from behind, forcibly removed her underwear "and inserted his finger inside the victim's anus without consent," according to a community alert released Wednesday by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Authorities did not provide a specific location of the gym or where the assault occurred, but said it was in Valley Village, which is north of Studio City and west of North Hollywood.

Police described the suspect as a man with black hair and brown eyes. He is about 6 feet tall with bushy hair and a large build.

He was last seen wearing a tan long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans and brown-and-black boots, police said.

LAPD released several surveillance images showing the man carrying a black shoulder bag.
