Shooting Suspect Leads Police On Chase Through South Bay, L.A. Area
A shooting suspect surrendered Wednesday after leading police on a 90-minute pursuit through multiple L.A.-area cities.
LOS ANGELES — A shooting suspect was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon after leading police on a vehicle pursuit that traveled through multiple cities, including Hawthorne, Lawndale and Gardena, according to a news report from KTLA.
During the pursuit, the male suspect drove about 40mph on surface streets but was frequently on the wrong side of the road, according to the KTLA report. Other drivers managed to avoid the suspect’s vehicle as it made many risky left turns and blew through red lights at intersections, the station said.
The chase, which began around 3:15 p.m., ended when the suspect, who was wearing a white t-shirt and had closely cropped hair, pulled into an alley and stopped the car.
