SigAlert: Fatal Crash Shuts Down 405 Freeway Lanes In Gardena

The carpool lane and two left southbound lanes south of Western Avenue were closed for two hours Friday morning.

GARDENA, CA — One person died Friday morning in a crash that shutdown southbound San Diego (405) Freeway lanes for two hours.

Authorities released few details about the crash, which was reported at about 4:30 a.m. south of Western Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol. The CHP issued a SigAlert, and the carpool and number 1 and 2 lanes remained closed for two hours Friday morning.

Authorities did not identify the crash victim nor did they say whether another vehicle was involved in the crash. The circumstances surrounding the crash remained under investigation.
