SigAlert: Fatal Motorcycle Crash Shuts Down 405 Freeway Lanes
Several southbound lanes of the San Diego (405 ) Freeway were shut down in Long Beach Thursday morning for hours.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A fatal motorcycle crash shut down several lanes of the southbound San Diego (405 ) Freeway in Long Beach Thursday morning.
The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert for for the southbound 405 Freeway shortly after 4:30 a.m. near Cherry Avenue. The SigAlert was expected to last until about 7:30 a.m. Commuters were advised to find alternate routes Thursday morning.
The two, three, four and five southbound lanes remained closed just before 7 a.m., according to the CHP. By 5:30 a.m., the carpool and number one lane had been reopened.

An early morning crash left a motorcyclist pinned underneath a vehicle, killing the biker at the scene, according to the CHP.
