SigAlert: Motorcycle Crash Shuts Down 101/405 Freeway Transition Lanes

Westbound freeway traffic was backed up to Laurel Canyon Boulevard.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A motorcycle crash shut down the Ventura (101) Freeway transition at the San Diego (405) Freeway in the Sherman Oaks area Friday morning, temporarily closing the connector and backing up traffic.

The crash, involving a motorcycle and SUV was reported shortly before 11 a.m, on the westbound 101 Freeway transition to the northbound 405 Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

As of 11:50 p.m. the center lane remained blocked.

The CHP received a call of a motorcycle rider down in the road and not moving, but the biker was later seen trying to walk to the side of the road, according to the CHP incident log. An update on the rider's condition was not immediately available.
