SigAlert: Motorcyclist Killed In 101 Freeway Pileup

The fatal crash shut down four lanes of the westbound Ventura (101) Freeway Wednesday afternoon.

ENCINO, CA — A motorcyclist was killed in a pileup on the westbound Ventura (101) Freeway, triggering a rush-hour SigAlert Wednesday.

The crash occurred at about 3:40 p.m. just east of White Oak Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The biker died at the scene, and the investigation shut down four lanes of the Ventura Freeway.

Authorities did not release the identity of the crash victim. No one else was hurt in the crash.

The CHP did not have an estimate for when the lanes would reopen. Motorists were advised to avoid the area Wednesday evening.
