SigAlert: Rush Hour Fatal Crash Backs Up 10 Freeway
A driver crashed into a tree alongside the Santa Monica (10) Freeway in Palms, triggering and ongoing SigAlert.
LOS ANGELES, CA — The California Highway Patrol issued an ongoing SigAlert for the eastbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway in Palms due to a fatal crash.
Both the number 4 and 5 lanes are shut down just west of Manning Avenue as investigators respond to the scene of the solo car crash.
"We received a call at 7:35 a.m. of a vehicle that struck a tree," said CHP Officer April Elliott.

The driver died at the scene, she said.
"There is a current a SigAlert for an unknown duration for the 4 and 5 lanes," added Elliott.
