Small Businesses To Get Help Competing For LA Olympics, Super Bowl Contracts
The expanded Compete4LA program will offer networking events, contractor mentorship and information about procurement opportunities.
LOS ANGELES, CA — Local small businesses will get new opportunities to meet major contractors and compete for work connected to the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the 2027 Super Bowl and other large events planned across Los Angeles County.
The Los Angeles Business Council Institute on Wednesday announced an expansion of its Compete4LA program, which maintains a searchable database of about 40,000 small suppliers with annual revenue of up to $5 million.
The expansion will include in-person “Meet the Primes” events where business owners can speak with procurement professionals, learn about upcoming contracts and get guidance on becoming approved vendors.

Participating industries are expected to include construction, hospitality, manufacturing, transportation and professional services.
A new mentorship program will also pair small businesses with larger prime contractors that have experience competing for and managing major contracts.

For local entrepreneurs, the program could provide an entry point into work generated by several major events and construction projects, including:
- The 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games
- Super Bowl LXI in 2027
- The Los Angeles Convention Center expansion
- Other public and private projects across Los Angeles County
LA28 has set a goal of awarding 25% of its eligible procurement spending to small businesses in the Los Angeles region, according to the institute.
Businesses listed in the Compete4LA directory can be searched by industry classification and location. The platform also maps businesses in relation to planned Olympic and Paralympic venues.
The institute said it plans to hold networking sessions in multiple Los Angeles County districts, though dates and locations were not included in the announcement.
Active LA28 bid opportunities and procurement notices are posted separately through the city’s Regional Alliance Marketplace for Procurement, known as RAMP LA.
