Sodexo Celebrates Lunar New Year at Cal Lutheran University

Sodexo, dining services partner at Cal Lutheran University, recently hosted Lunar New Year events, embracing and fostering cultural celebrations on campus.

On Friday, February 9, Sodexo's dining team delighted students with a special Lunar New Year meal served at both lunch and dinner in Ullman Dining, the university's cafeteria. The atmosphere was complemented by red and gold Lunar New Year-themed decorations, creating a festive ambiance for students.

The special meal featured a delectable array of Asian cuisine, including Kung Pao Pork, Tofu Bahn Mi, Orange Chicken Stir Fry, and Eggrolls, which were a crowd favorite and disappeared within an hour.

Sodexo's catering manager, Alysha Nizam, and the dining team ensured that the menu was both delicious and representative of the rich cultural tapestry celebrated during Lunar New Year.

Celebrations continued on Friday, February 23, with Sodexo participating in the LNY Festival hosted by Cal Lutheran's Center for Global Engagement. The festival brought together various campus groups and departments, with Sodexo contributing to the celebration for the third consecutive year. The Center for Global Engagement expressed gratitude for Sodexo's consistent support and active participation in honoring diverse cultural events.

Azar Amir Mokri, the Assistant Director of the Office of Education Abroad in the Center for Global Engagement at Cal Lutheran University, shared her appreciation, stating, "Sodexo has been an integral part during the organization of cultural events, and they have always been very supportive and accommodating to us with our many requests. We are looking forward to many more cultural events together in the future."

In addition to the delicious Lunar New Year meal, Sodexo organized a cookie decorating activity during the festival, providing icing and Lunar New Year-themed cookies, including a dragon-shaped version.

Priyanka Bhagat, Unit Marketing Coordinator for Sodexo, and marketing intern Jacquelyn Cambaliza, helped decorate and promote the celebratory events.
