Speeding Wrong-Way Driver Suspected In 110 Crash That Killed 2

A driver was seen speeding the wrong-way on the 110 Freeway just moments before the three-car crash that killed two and flipped a vehicle.

GARDENA, CA — Two people died in a three-car crash on the northbound Harbor (110) Freeway Saturday morning, and investigators believe a speeding wrong-way driver was the cause.

The crash happened at 4:20 a.m on the182nd Street onramp to the Harbor Freeway, and it left one car-overturned and two dead at the scene. It occurred just five minutes after witnesses reported a vehicle driving about 80 mph southbound in the northbound Fast Track lane of the freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A SigAlert was issued until further notice.

Both fatalities were pronounced at the scene, the CHP said.

It was unclear whether anyone else was injured.
