'Supernatural' Star Survives 'Widowmaker' Heart Attack, Thanks LA FD

Mark Sheppard, who played the popular Crowley in the series, says he wouldn't be here if not for his wife and LA firefighters who saved him.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Mark Sheppard survived six heart attacks and four lifesaving revivals during a recent health scare, according to a recent NBC News article.

"You're not going to believe this," Sheppard wrote on his Instagram page. "I was on my way to an appointment yesterday when I collapsed in my kitchen.

"Six massive heart attacks later and being brought back from the dead four times, I apparently had a 100 percent blockage in my LAD. The Widowmaker. If not for my wife, the Los Angeles Fire Department at Mulholland, and the incredible staff of Providence, California, at St. Joseph's, I wouldn't be writing this."

Sheppard said his chances of survival, if all hadn't gone as it did, would have been "virtually nil."

Numerous "Supernatural" cast members, including Misha Collins—forever Sheppard's on-screen nemesis, the angel "Castiel"—wrote back wishing him well in his recovery.

"Mark! You don't need to do the most and biggest every time!" Collins wrote. "6 heart attacks? 2 or 3 would have been impressive enough. You've impressed us, okay? Now stop with this, heal up, and get back on the road with us. Love you, pal."

He announced that he should be arriving back at home Monday, to which the LA Fire Department responded:

"We're so glad to hear of your outcome and wish you a full and speedy recovery."
