Suspect In Taco Vendor Attack Identified

LOS ANGELES, CA — Authorities on Wednesday identified a woman suspected of beating a taco vendor in a brutal attack captured on video.

According to detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Southeast Area, 36-year-old Renee Latrice Hines is the woman seen in the video.

The woman seen in the video recorded Sunday shortly after 6:30 p.m. at Grandee Avenue and 103rd Street, punched and pepper sprayed the taco stand employee after being asked to pay for the food she ate, according to police.

"After the assault, the suspect walked to her car and a bystander began recording the suspect. The suspect became angry, grabbed the taco stand sign and threw it in the bystander’s direction," according to the LAPD. "The suspect then fled the location in a 2007 purple Lexus , California license plate number 8VIT633."

The victim was treated for injuries at the scene by the Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.
