Suspect In Target Kidnapping Attempt Arrested

Detectives believe they found the woman who carried a toddler out of a Target store in Los Angeles.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Police arrested a woman in North Hollywood suspected of trying to kidnap a little boy from a Target store in Westlake over the weekend, the Los Angeles Police Department announced.

Authorities have not publicly identified the 40-year-old woman who was arrested near Magnolia Boulevard. The Los Angeles Police Department had been looking for the woman since Sunday's high-profile kidnapping attempt.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the attempted kidnapping happened at about 12:40 p.m. Sunday at the Target at 620 Sout Virgil Avenue.

"Suspect (stranger) forcefully grabbed 4-year-old victim from behind without content and carried him outside of the store," the LAPD announced in a bulletin.

The woman put the child down after his parent confronted her. The suspect fled on foot.

The suspect was described as a woman in her early 40s, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall and 150 pounds.
