Suspicious Bag Forces LAX Evacuation

The Los Angeles Police Department bomb squad cleared a suspicious package left in arrivals.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A suspicious package forced the evacuation of Terminal 3 arrivals at LAX Friday morning, but investigators cleared the package within a half hour.

As of 10:15 a.m., the LAPD bomb squad was en route to the scene, said Los angeles Police Department Officer Jeff Lee. By 10:45 the package was cleared, but the incident did cause significant delays for travelers.

All inner lanes from 200 World Way to the terminal were closed. Traffic was being diverted to the outer lanes. Terminal 3 was partially evacuated at the lower level only.
