UPDATE AT 9:45 A.M.: A suspicious item has been removed by a bomb squad from where it was discovered near Century Boulevard and Avion Drive, on the east side of Los Angeles International Airport, and traffic once again being allowed through, according to Airport police.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A suspicious item found near the Los Angeles International Airport is causing travel headaches this morning.

The package was found near Century Boulevard and Avion Drive, on the east side of LAX. Traffic is being routed away from the area, and travelers should avoid the area, if possible, according to the LAPD. Travelers heading out of LAX should plan for extra delays Tuesday morning.
