Tanker Truck Loaded with Bleach Overturns On 105 Freeway in South LA
The semi caught fire, CHP stated. It was also leaking liquid.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A tanker truck carrying bleach overturned Saturday on the westbound side of the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway in South Los Angeles causing the California Highway Patrol to shut down those lanes.
The tanker and another vehicle collided and overturned at 3:42 a.m. Saturday on the westbound freeway just east of Vermont Avenue, according to the CHP.
The semi caught fire, the CHP stated. It was also leaking liquid.

A SigAlert was issued at 4:14 a.m. for all westbound lanes so the mess could be cleaned up and Los Angeles Fire Department hazardous materials specialists were called to the scene to assist with the cleaning.
The lanes were reopened about 1:15 p.m.

Injuries were not detailed by the CHP in its online log, but the crash was labeled as an injury incident.
LAFD spokesperson Jamie Stewart said at least one person was evaluated at the scene but declined to be taken to a hospital.
