These LA Chefs, Restaurants Are James Beard Awards Semifinalists
Los Angeles chefs and restaurants scored nominations in several categories for the prestigious upcoming culinary awards.
LOS ANGELES, CA — The prestigious James Beard Foundation list of 2022 semifinalists was announced on Wednesday, and Los Angeles area chefs and restaurants were nominated in several categories.
Greg Dulan of Dulan's Soul Food Restaurant is a semifinalist for Outstanding Restaurateur. Niki Nakayama of n/nakais a semifinalist for Outstanding Chef. Casey Felton of Banh Oui is a semifinalist in the category of Emerging Chef. Margarita Manzke of République is a semifinalist for Outstanding Pastry Chef. Joseph, Archalous, and Caroline Geragosian of Old Sasoon Bakery in Pasadena are in the running for Outstanding Baker.
For the Best Chefs of California category, Keith Corbin of Alta Adams, Tony Ho of Sea Harbour Seafood Restaurant in Rosemead, Judept Irra of Tamales Elena y Antojitos in Bell Gardens, Bryant Ng of Cassia in Santa Monica, Natalia Pereira of Woodspoon in Los Angeles, Minh Phan of Phenakite, Justin Pichetrungsi of Anajak Thai, and Sarintip “Jazz” Singsanong of Jitlada are all semifinalists.

Post & Beam is in the running for Outstanding Restaurant. Angry Egret Dinette is a semifinalist in the category of Best New Restaurant. Genever is a semifinalist for Outstanding Bar Program.
"Winners will be celebrated at the James Beard Restaurant and Chef Awards ceremony on Monday, June 13, 2022, at the Lyric Opera of Chicago," the semifinal's announcement states.
