Trump Leaves 'Real Patriots' To Brave Hatred Of 'Hollywood Elite'
President Trump will fundraise in Los Angeles next week where big donors love him despite his campaign email demonizing his LA patrons.

LOS ANGELES, CA — President Donald Trump, who rarely visits liberal bastions such as Los Angeles, plans to make an exception next week to fundraise for his re-election in the city. However, he made it clear that he sees Los Angeles as enemy territory, bashing "HOLLYWOOD ELITES" who "HATE" him unlike the "REAL Patriots," he wrote in a campaign email.
The Trump campaign keeps its private, invitation-only fundraisers under wraps, but according to Politico, the president will be in the Los Angeles area on Tuesday. A representative for the Trump campaign could not be immediately reached for comment.
Trump may not be as hated by the Hollywood elites as he portrays. The president does not get a lot of votes in Los Angeles, but he does get a lot of money from his Southland supporters. In fact Trump has raised more from big donors in several Los Angeles neighborhoods than Vice President Joe Biden. Residents in Malibu and and Beverly Hills have given more to Trump although Biden has benefited from more small donors in the area. According to a report by the Los Angeles Times, Trump's elite LA donors include real estate moguls Geoffrey Palmer and Robert Zarnegin; Jana Kohl, a Kohl's department store heir; Barbara Marcus, a Beverly Hills homemaker; and former Dodgers owner Jamie McCourt.

Tuesday's fundraiser will be a twofer for the president. In addition to tapping local big donors, The Trump Make America Great Again Committee — a joint fundraising effort between the Trump campaign and Republican National Committee — circulated a sweepstakes offer this week, urging supporters to make a contribution for a chance to win a trip to a Los Angeles event with Trump.
"I'm hosting a very important event soon, and rather than spend my time with the Hollywood ELITES who HATE US, I want to spend my time with REAL Patriots, like YOU," the campaign email reads.

The sweepstakes — entries for which are due by 9 p.m. — offers a flight to Los Angeles, a hotel room and meal, along with a photo opp with Trump. The email did not give any details about the event, failing to specify an exact date or location.
Trump rarely makes appearances in the heavily Democrat Los Angeles area, and the visits are primarily to attend private fundraisers. He was most recently in the area in February, when he attended fundraising events in Beverly Hills and met with organizers of the 2028 Olympic Games.
