DoorDash Driver Shot At While Delivering Food In La Mirada
A DoorDash food delivery driver was shot in the stomach late Tuesday and is being treated for gunshot wounds at UCI hospital.
LOS ANGELES, CA — An food delivery driver was being treated for gunshot wounds at UCI hospital, authorities reported. The woman was shot while delivering food in her car in La Mirada, Sgt. Rodney Gutierrez of the Los Angeles County Sheriffs' Department's Norwalk Station said.
When she delivered a DoorDash order in the 13000 block of El Moro near Foster Road, the suspects allegedly fired at her several times and struck her in the abdomen, Gutierrez said.
The woman told deputies from the Norwalk Station at approximately 11:45 p.m. Tuesday she was delivering food in La Mirada and had been followed for several blocks southbound toward Buena Park, by a silver sedan.

DoorDash was actively seeking to support the driver.
“Safety is extremely important to us, and we're deeply concerned by this report of violence," a spokesperson shared with Patch. "We’re actively reaching out to the Dasher involved to offer our support, and are engaging law enforcement to assist in their investigation in any way we can.”

She was in the city of Buena Park in Orange County when she called deputies, according to reports.
The suspects drove away, westbound on Foster Road, just a block away from the original incident.

Gutierrez said there was an earlier shooting at approximately 6:15 p.m. Tuesday near Telegraph and Colima roads in South Whittier, to the north of this incident.
That shooting involved a silver sedan, which followed a victim's vehicle for several blocks before ramming them from the back, shattering the victim's back window and shooting at the victim. It is not known if the earlier driver was a food delivery vehicle.
"We think it might have been the same people, possibly a local gang," Gutierrez told reporters.
No one was hurt in the second shooting and police have no descriptions of the suspects.
