Unattended Bag At LAX Prompts Terminal Evacuation

The discovery of an unattended bag prompted the evacuation of part of an LAX terminal Wednesday.

LOS ANGELES, CA — The discovery of an unattended bag resulted in a brief evacuation of part of Terminal 4 at Los Angeles International Airport Wednesday, but the item was ultimately determined not to be a threat.

According to airport officials, the unattended bag was reported at about 7 a.m. Wednesday, resulting in a partial evacuation of the terminal. At least one lane of traffic was closed during the evacuation, but no flight operations were impacted.

The bag was determined to be harmless and the evacuation ended shortly before 8 a.m., according to the airport.
