Vice President Kamala Harris' Husband Doug Emhoff Has Covid

The Brentwood power couple canceled events out of an abundance of caution after Doug Emhoff tested positive for COVID-19 Tuesday.

BRENTWOOD, CA — Vice President Kamala Harris' husband Doug Emhoff tested positive for COVID-19 Tuesday.

According to her office, the vice president has tested negative for the coronavirus yet she skipped a Women's History Month event at the White House "out of an abundance of caution," said Sabrina Singh, the vice president's deputy press secretary.

Emhoff most recently traveled over the weekend to Denver with U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen. There was no immediate word on whether he was experiencing COVID symptoms nor whether Yellen may have been exposed to the coronavirus.

President Joe Biden attended the White House event Tuesday and told the crowd Harris is doing fine, but urged attendees, "Let's send her our love."

Harris and Emhoff live in Brentwood, but they haven't been home to Los Angeles since January.

Emhoff, first second gentleman in United States history, graduated from high school and college in Los Angeles County before building a career in entertainment law.
