Victim In Car-To-Car Shooting Drives To LA Fire Station For Help

The driver of a Mercedes-Benz​ sedan was shot in the Vermont Square area Thursday morning, and he drove his bullet-riddled car for help.

LOS ANGELES, CA — The driver of a Mercedes-Benz suffered a bullet-would when his vehicle was fired on repeatedly Thursday morning in the Vermont Square area, according to the Los Angeles Police Depart.

The man drove himself to a nearby fire station at 1909 W. Slauson Avenue, where he was transported to a hospital for treatment.

"Today at about 9:17 in the morning they responded to Normandie Avenue west of 51st Street for a shooting investigation," said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Tony Im. "The crime scene was at 51st and Normandie."

Broadcast reports from the scene showed the dark Mercedes-Benz sedan riddled with bullet holes and shattered windows.

Investigators did not say what led to the shooting. The suspect is an unknown male driving a white four-door sedan, according to the LAPD.
