Walt Disney's Storybook Mansion Is For Rent At $40K A Month

LOS ANGELES, CA — Once upon a time, in a land not far away, Walt Disney lived in a Storybook mansion where he and his wife raised their daughters and built an entertainment empire.

It's not hard to see how the storybook surroundings inspired works that would characterize early Disney films and iconic Disneyland rides. Now Disneyphiles can rent the mansion for $40,000 a month.

The home where Disney lived from 1932 to 1950 in Los Feliz is available for lease.

According to listing agent Chase Campen at Compass, the home is a pastiche of styles including French Provincial, French Country Tudor and Neo Gothic.

The four-bedroom, five-bathroom home designed by Frank Crowhurst has two wings and boasts a two-story living room and a home theater, naturally.

“This property was chosen by Walt Disney as the place to raise his family, and also coincided with a transition of Disney Studios from fledgling enterprise toward entertainment giant," Camden said via email. "It sits on an acre of land with incredible outdoor space and city views. Its historical pedigree only adds to the magical mystique.
