Weekend-Long Closure Of LA County Freeway Begins Friday
One side of the freeway will be completely shut down during part of the 55-hour closure.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Traffic is expected to be impacted on the 5 Freeway and nearby roads this month when construction will shut down parts of the interstate in the San Fernando Valley over an entire weekend.
The northbound freeway will be reduced to two lanes through the Burbank area all weekend beginning Friday, Feb. 20. It will be fully shut down to traffic overnight in that area. The 134 Freeway connector to the northbound freeway will also be closed the entire weekend, according to Caltrans.
This closure is the second of six 55-hour weekend-long closures planned through spring 2026 as part of a paving project. The next closure is planned for Feb. 27-March 2.
