When will The political Bickering End? After people Die?

I hear in the news are people talking about OTHERS needing to do things to deal with the Pandemic Cronovirus outbreak.

The politicians seem more focused on complaining about other politicians than resolving the problem. I saw a mention on CNN saying some group spent 6 million dollars to complain about the president. My first thought was - Could 6 million dollars make a plant to make N95 breathing masks? Maybe some priorities need to be reconsidered.

What needs to be done on multiple fronts:

Manufactured Items--- Protective Gear, Medical Gear / Equipment Manufactured

Testing more readily available

Vaccine / treatment expect more long time for a solution, as labs are more complex to make .

On the Simpler Items.. . While most manufacturing in the USA has be relocated to China, the USA still has many manufacturing facilities, many of which I would expect could be converted quickly to make needs products.

Problems in converting a manufacturing facility:

1. Design - What equipment needs to be made to make / convert a manufacturing plant.
2. Resources - Materials used that will become the product being manufactured.
3. Permits / Local government approval .
4. Waste disposal from manufacturing process.
5. Transportation of any of the above.
6. Under normal conditions any of the above can take awhile resulting in delays.

The powers that be should be working on:

1) Paring up / facilitation of agreements sharing technologies to Speed up design. Lets say a company like 3M can only make X number of N95 breathing masks per day yet we need X times 10,000 per day for a relatively short time to fill current Pandemic needs. If thousands of other company's temporary plants come online, and after Pandemic is over, the Demand to 3M mask filters would drop to almost nothing due to so many masks out in the field at that time. A fair compensation plan would have to be brokered since they would be releasing trade secrets. Part of the compensation should be official resignation that 3M help save lives.

On the Design / conversion the existing plants, this requires equipment to be made / altered / molded . Much of this may have to be made at existing plants through the USA and transported to the manufacturing facilities . I recommend using military trans ports for speed. I plane could be waiting at airport and take off as soon as loaded. NOT an regular scheduled delivery company like UPS , FEDEX do. EVERY MINUTE COUNTS.

2) Based upon the recommendations of the company's who normally product the products, begin locating and transporting raw materials to plant locations. Use Military transport as needed to speed up transport. Have multiple personal in a transport truck to they can trade off driving to allow for constant transport to destination. Have a website dedicated listing what is needed. Suppliers through out the USA can see is a product they make or have in stock is needed.

3) Have inspectors on job site on call to speed up construction / retooling of facilities . Goal - Cut red tape without sacrificing quality.

4) work with waste disposal company's to allow for fast disposal of product waste.

5) Use Military transports to speed up transportation to and from facility's .

6) All of the above should be accomplished with multiple shifts resulting in a 24 hour 7 day a week operation. No one should die because someone unemployed is willing to work a night shift is not allowed because a union blocks there being a night position.

The above is just a small rough breakdown of what would be involved.

There are currently a number of company's able to process testing of blood accurately. They are limited on how many they can process daily, sadly that is a very low number compared to the numbers needed. If they only have one shift per day, If additional staff added to get 2 additional shifts would that mean 3 times the tests processed. We need to know where the virus is existing, not just in symptomatic people. A person can be carrying the virus without even showing any symptoms. How people could a person like that infect in a day? In a quick stop to the grocery store, gas station, walking past someone. touching a bathroom exit door?

The same process should be applied to this as to manufactures described above.

Examples of what is needed . N95 or BETTER masks , disposable body suits ( white one piece suits ) , goggles, breathing machines , ventilators , oxygen concentrators , Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation machines ( They pump and oxygenates a patient's blood outside the body, allowing the heart and lungs to rest. ) .... , test tubes for blood tests.

Also, recycling programs for any of the waste of the above if applicable.

There are many other tasks involved, but working together anything can be accomplished.

Accomplishing the above things are simple compared to the high death rates and global economic crisis to follow. Every minute counts.

If China can build a hospital in a week, I do not see why the USA could not do it in 6 days. And better. But alas,,, We have politicians spending time nitpicking each other, spending money on ads attacking each other, complaining others have not done something they them selves could do.

Think about the above article when businesses begin failing at a record rate with massive unemployment.

Think about it when a friend or relative dies from this disease.

Think about it when your retirement located in the stock market tanks.

Are any people in power doing any of the actions I described in the above article to get the basic needs met when dealing with what this has the potential to become? I do not see any news articles covering any plant manufacturing retooling.

Do you think we will have any masks or protective gear sent to the USA from China or other countries? Not a chance. We need to do this our selves.

In news you mainly hear about stimulus package, Yet little to nothing on equipment / masks / temp hospitals being setup. And, GM alone cannot make equipment needed for 331,000,000 people . It takes 3M 1 year to make 400 million masks. If 1/2 of the people wanted to have a barrier between themselves and possible virus while outside or working lets look as some rough estimates.

Say person had 5 masks did not toss them out after one use like recommended. and they have 7 rotating usage each day and placing in chemical to kill any virus.

331,000,000 /2 x 7 = 1,158,500,000 masks. needed NOW

assuming 3m could double manufacturing to 800 million a year.

It would still take 1 1/2 years to make the masks. To make that amount in 1 week would require 75 factories. with GM that would be 2 factories we have now.

I have a neighbor whose company shut down one manufacturing building because an employee there tested positive for the virus. That company makes medical devices for inside the body. On that note, they have clean rooms for making the medical devices , but no new protective gear so they must reuse masks and coverings.

Why are some company's hiring lots of employees now? I can think of a good reason. To replace entire shifts of employees when one or more test positive .
