Woman Suspect Of Robbery Leads Police On High-Speed U-Haul Truck Chase

The chase spanned East and South Los Angeles areas until the woman ditched the truck and unsuccessfully tried to evade police on foot.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A woman suspected of robbery led police on a high-speed chase through Los Angeles in a U-Haul truck Saturday night. The California Highway Patrol arrested her when she ditched the truck and attempted to escape on foot in the Norwalk and Bell Gardens area.

The chase spanned East Los Angeles and the South Gate areas and frequenly reaching speeds of 80 mph on surface streets and freeways. At times, the driver found herself caught in traffic as police approached the truck with spike strips.

The woman was seen running with a bag in her arms while darting across yards before the police caught up with her shortly after 8:30 p.m.

According to CBS Los Angeles, the woman was wanted in connection with a robbery, but it was not clear where the robbery occurred.
