"For Your Consideration" Grammy Awards "Yellowstone Lake" LP
"Yellowstone Lake" LP, released February 26, 2021, takes listeners on an audible excursion through Yellowstone National Park.
The "Yellowstone Lake" LP, released in February of 2021, continues to be well-received by both listeners and many broadcasters in the "New Age" music genre. "Yellowstone Lake" was produced by Bill Freas, and the "Cottage City Symphony Orchestra." Freas composed, arranged and produced the album in Philadelphia, as well as performed on the keyboard, piano, and synthesizer; pairing with music artists from London, Philadelphia and Nashville, whom he affectionately refers to as the "Cottage City Symphony" orchestra. Collectively they joined together to bring the "Yellowstone Lake" LP to life.
Chrissie Shepherd from "One World Music" has stated that "the album is going to be a constant at their station for a while," and BT Fasmer of "New Age Star Radio" discussed the timely inspiration that the album provides stating, "Given all of the chaos going on in the world, an album such as "Yellowstone Lake" is just what we need." Continuing to state, "It is that kind of release you can give to a friend who never would consider listening to a meditation album but suddenly needs one. Its playfulness and crossover atmosphere gives it high appeal. I’m tempted to say that “Yellowstone Lake” reflects a modern view of nature."
Bill Freas was motivated to produce and compose an album that would inspire others, to provide an experience where they could experience the beauty of "Yellowstone Lake" sonically, without ever needing to leave their home. Given the difficulties many experienced throughout the pandemic; many not able to travel anywhere that their hearts desired, Freas' album is a welcome audible experience.Bill Freas discussed in a recent interview that providing "much needed inspiration to listeners" was a big part of his motivation for the album. Freas and the "Cottage City Orchestra" were innovative in terms of how this album was produced, Freas states, "Even with the early travel limitations of the pandemic, we came up with an effective long-distance recording style, and thankfully, we were able to produce an LP that resonates with a sound that is as seamless as if I and the other musicians were all laying down tracks in the same studio." Bill Freas set out to accomplish multiple goals with this album, the first, according to Freas, "to continue to reach listeners who may need this kind of album during these difficult times and beyond, because I do know that these songs can be therapeutic and help take people away from their sometimes harsh worlds, even if for only an hour, so that they can heal and feel inspired to take on anything that may come their way, bringing their focus to gratitude, beauty and peace. Freas continued, "Our second goal with the "Yellowstone Lake" LP is to redefine the genre in a positive way to even further expand upon creativity and what is possible within the genre, and to provide music that can 'cross-over' to appeal to a wider audience," within the genre and outside of it, as well. The full information about this album is available on the album's Grammy Awards - 'Best New Age Album, 'For Your Consideration' website: https://fyc-yellowstone-lake.webnode.com"Progressing to the next step would of course be a blessing and very much welcomed toward my personal evolution as an artist, producer and composer, and for the evolution of "Cottage City Orchestra." I look at this opportunity as a call-to-arms for the genre as a whole, for me and its entire talented, artistic community so that we may all seize the opportunity to take our music to a new level, representing a broader realm of creativity both sonically and narratively," concludes Freas.
