Dangerous Surf Hits Seal Beach Coast This Week: Advisory

SEAL BEACH, CA — Be aware, Seal Beach residents: high surf is returning to your coastal town.

The National Weather Service issued the Beach Hazards Statement from Wednesday through Thursday evening, impacting all Orange County coastal areas, including Seal Beach.

Residents can expect an elevated surf of three to six feet with sets up to seven feet possible, according to the service.

The service warned residents of the possibility of dangerous rip currents and coastal flooding.

According to the service, the waves will be the strongest along south and southwest-facing beaches.

The advisory comes just a week after a woman visiting Aliso Beach in Laguna Beach was pulled under the water while walking on the shoreline with her friends.

The woman suffered a heart attack while she was pinned by the waves.

Seal Beach residents were urged to be mindful of the waves and keep a safe distance through the Beach Hazards Advisory.
