Baltimore Orioles Draft Los Alamitos Pitcher

Former Los Alamitos High School Pitcher of the Year Kyle Simon is drafted in round 4.

The Baltimore Orioles in Round 4 of Major League Baseball's first-year player draft Tuesday selected Former Los Alamitos High School baseball player Kyle Simon, who now pitches for the University of Arizona Wildcats.

The junior was drafted 125th overall. According to the Arizona Daily Star, Simon went 11-3 with a 2.73 ERA in 18 starts for his team this season and had 86 strikeouts in 128 2/3 innings.

In 2008, Simon graduated from Los Alamitos High School where he was named Pitcher of the year as a junior and senior under Head Coach Mark Clabough. Twice he was named First Team All-Sunset League. He was class president his junior year and ASB Vice President.
