Baltimore Orioles Draft Los Alamitos Pitcher

The Baltimore Orioles in Round 4 of Major League Baseball's first-year player draft Tuesday selected Former Los Alamitos High School baseball player Kyle Simon, who now pitches for the University of Arizona Wildcats.

The junior was drafted 125^th overall. According to the Arizona Daily Star, Simon went 11-3 with a 2.73 ERA in 18 starts for his team this season and had 86 strikeouts in 128 2/3 innings.

In 2008, Simon graduated from Los Alamitos High School where he was named Pitcher of the year as a junior and senior under Head Coach Mark Clabough. Twice he was named First Team All-Sunset League. He was class president his junior year and ASB Vice President.
