Beach Advisory Issued In Seal Beach

Sections of Seal Beach and Newport Beach are under beach advisory. Another stretch of Laguna Beach is closed following a raw sewage spill.

SEAL BEACH, CA — Orange County Health Care Agency has alerted residents and visitors that a section of Laguna Beach was closed due to sewage spill.

The 600 gallon sewage spill occured due to a private property equipment failure, officials say.

"Ocean water from Sleepy Hollow Lane to Cleo Street is closed to swimming, surfing and diving due to the sewage spill, which was reported, Sunday.

Other beach advisories in Orange County include high bacteria levels:

  • Seal Beach, from the San Gabriel River Jetty to 300 feet down-coast of the San Gabriel River Jetty
  • Newport Beach at Abalone Avenue Beach, on the south side of Balboa Island.

As of Monday morning, no other beach closures were reported.
