Burst Water Main Floods Studio City Neighborhood

An underground pipe burst flooding Hillslope Street.

A broken eight-inch water main caused street flooding in a Studio City neighborhood tonight before utility workers stopped the water flow, a Los Angeles Department of Water and Power spokeswoman said.

The broken underground pipe was reported at 9:15 p.m. in the 12300 block of Hillslope Street, said the DWP’s Kim Hughes.

DWP workers isolated the location of the break and have stopped the water from flowing, Hughes said. All customers currently have water, although that could change when repair work begins.

Hillslope Street is closed to all but local traffic at Laurel Terrace.
