Crews Renovating Girl Scout House Parkway
Project will install interlocking concrete pavements at 247 7th Street in Seal Beach.

A project to spruce up the land around the Girl Scout House will be completed in about two weeks, Seal Beach city staff say.
City crews started work Friday installing interlocking concrete pavements -- called “pavers” -- to the parkway at 247 7th Street, according to Cesar Rangel, assistant city engineer.
“When you add pavers, it beautifies the city,” Rangel said.

And Rangel adds, because pavers are not one giant concrete slab – like those normally used in driveways or parking lots -- water can drain through them and not pool in big puddles.
According to a city spokesperson, during the city’s budget process, the community ask that the city renovate the property, and at the June 2012 City Council meeting, officials approved $3,500 to fund the project.
