Coroner IDs Pedestrian Struck, Killed In North OC

GARDEN GROVE, CA — A man who was struck by a vehicle while walking in Garden Grove in September was at last identified by authorities.

Freddie Brown III occurred around 7:40 p.m. Sept. 26 on Harbor Boulevard near Banner Drive, according to the Garden Grove Police Department.

Brown died about a half hour later at an area hospital, according to the Orange County coroner.

The motorist remained at the scene and was interviewed by police.

"DUI does not appear to be a factor," a police statement said.
