Crash Causes Power Outages In North Orange County
More than 300 residents of north Orange County woke up without Tuesday following a collision.

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — Downed power lines were the reason for hundreds of Southern California Edison customers in north Orange County to wake up to no electricity, SoCal Edison said. The crash occurred about 6:30 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Ward Street and Yorktown Avenue, authorities said.
The driver of a white pickup truck crashed into a power pole, causing the chain reaction that ended withtwo power poles down and power lines in the street, NBC4 reported.
Both the truck and a Scion drivers were trapped inside their vehicles for at least an hour before they were rescued, according to NBC4. The truck driver was airlifted to the hospital, while the Scion driver was unhurt.

The number of Edison customers without power stood at 383 early this morning, and repairs crews restored electricity around 7 a.m., they said.
