Garden Grove police detained a driver based on the info released by the sheriff's department, Roache said.

That suspect, described as a 44-year-old man, was eventually arrested for an alleged probation violation, but as of midday he had not been booked in connection with the hit-and-run.

A sheriff's spokesman said, however, that no outstanding suspects in the hit-and-run were believed to still be at large.
