Explosive House Fire Kills 1 In Seal Beach, Injures Second

One person died and a second was hospitalized after Orange County firefighters quelled a fire at a Seal Beach house on Wednesday night.

SEAL BEACH, CA — A person died and a second was hospitalized after Orange County firefighters doused an explosive fire at a Seal Beach home Wednesday night, authorities said.

Firefighters were dispatched to the two-story house in the 3700 block of Violet Street at about 7:25 p.m. and found heavy fire coming from the first floor at the rear of the house, OC Fire Authority Sean Doran said.

Firefighters put out the flames in 10 minutes, authorities said. They then found two people inside, one who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second person was hospitalized in unknown condition.

The deceased person inside the home was not identified by firefighters pending next-of-kin notification.
