SEAL BEACH, CA — A former beverage cart attendant is suing Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach, alleging that her employers forced her to endure club members' ongoing sexual advances.

Peyton Stover, 26, is suing the golf club for more than $15 million dollars after she was hired in the spring of 2019 at age 23.

The lawsuit was filed last week in Orange County Superior Court and named as defendants former supervisor James Poper, manager Mitchel Queen and Old Ranch Country Club's parent company, Texas-based owned ClubCorp.

Stover alleged that she was repeatedly groped, propositioned and forced to drink alcohol with the club's members after starting her position as a beverage cart attendant. When she later complained to management, a supervisor told Stover that members "pay enough to do as they wish."

Representatives for Old Ranch Country Club could not immediately be reached for comment. Frank A. Herrera, general manager of Old Ranch, told the Orange County Register in an email he could not comment on pending litigation.

In addition, the suit alleges that Stover was forced to work long hours without meal or rest breaks.

According to Stover’s attorney, Valiant Law partner Raymond Babaian, said the complaint seeks compensation for underpayment of wages, as well as other wage-and-hour violations and compensation for gender discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, negligent hiring and retention, intentional infliction of emotional distress and more.
