Free Movies, Concerts After Seal Beach Announces Summer Programming

The City of Seal Beach is hosting a slew of fun-filled events for the summer season. Here's what to know.

SEAL BEACH, CA — Seal Beach residents looking for fun-filled activities over the summer, look no further.

The Seal Beach Recreation and Community Services Departments just opened its registration for camps, classes and events for the summer break, and a run-down on what to expect.

On Saturday, June 24, residents can get in the summer spirit by enjoying a free "Finding Nemo" movie screening at Edison Park.

The event will feature activities for kids including lawn games and arts & crafts. The community is encouraged to bring their own picnic to the event, as only snacks and soft drinks will be up for sale.

The movie screening starts at 6:30 p.m. at Edison Park, 99 College Drive.

In addition to movies, Spikeball at the Beach returns this summer on July 1, Aug. 5 and Sept. 1 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Players aged 13 years and older are encouraged to come out and learn how to play, meet other players or practice their skills with the sport.

Symphony on the Go! will also host a free concert on Saturday, July 22. The concert will feature light, classical music from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Eisenhower Park.

Summer events will close out with the Summer Sendoff event on Saturday, Aug. 5 at 6:30 p.m. at Heather Park, located on Heather Street and Lampson Avenue. Attendees will enjoy a "Toy Story" screening at sundown, a barbecue, activities for kids and more.
