Friday Wave Check

More fun-size energy

Waking up with the waves on Friday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Los Alamitos-Seal Beach Patch surf report.  Well, it looks like our run of fun surf is sticking with us for another day.  Yep, it's nothing solid that's for sure, but you can find some playful size waves coming through.

The conditions are starting off fairly clean, with some spots seeing a little texture on the water.  It looks like one of those days where the southerly winds could pick up at anytime, so watch for that.

As far as the surf goes...we have mainly continued holding southerly swell in the water and very little if any northwest energy out there.  That recipe is offering some fast drained out lines, with some workable corners.  More tide will definitely help out the shape!

Most Seal Beach spots are running about knee to stomach high, with the top south facing breaks pulling chest high plus sets.  Taking a look at the tides...at 5:24 this morning it drained out to a negative 1.3 low which will have some spots desperate for water and pretty inconsistent early to mid-morning.  The tide then pushes back up to a 4.0 high at 11:58 later this morning and then drops once again to a 2.1 low at 4:41 this afternoon.

If you're going to grab a session, throw on no more than a thin fullsuit with the water temperature climbing up a bit and averaging between 62 and 64 degrees.  Have fun out there!!
