From Seal to Simi...

It's hard to believe that I graduated high school last year AND moved out of Seal. I always said I wouldn't miss high school or the town I lived in for four years, but the fact is, I would do anything to be able to repeat high school over again.

Being an adolescent and starting school in a completely new town with all new faces is hard enough. Throw an awkward, four-eyed girl with Cerebral Palsy in the mix and you have me. I'm Miranda and I'm in a wheelchair. I spent the most fun, liberating, and stressful years of my academic career at Los Alamitos High School. I was completely against everything Seal Beach and Los Al had to offer because I had no choice but to move with my mom and stepdad away from my family and friends.

When I first started out at Los Al, I was shy, awkward, and I felt completely alone. I was insecure about my wheelchair and what others thought of me because of it. As the years flew by, I grew up into the woman I believe I always wanted to be. Now I am nineteen and in my third semester at Moorpark Junior College and living with my grandparents in Simi Valley.

This is a look at my life through my lens. I'll be giving updates on the publication process of my memoirs, my academic progress, and what it's like navigating this crazy, beautiful life while rollin' on wheels.
