Hair Salon Ignites Overnight: Huntington Beach Two Alarm Fire

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — There is no word as to the cause of a fire that began inside of a Huntington Beach hair salon.

Huntington Beach firefighters rushed to the scene of the Salon Sapphire on the 16000 block of Springdale Street, located in a strip mall, at 3 a.m. Friday morning. They managed to keep the flames from spreading to other businesses.

The Huntington Beach Fire incident commander upgraded the fire to a second alarm, according to the Huntington Beach Fire Department.

Firefighters were able to keep the fire within the salon and away from seven other units in the strip mall, the department said about 4:30 a.m. Mop up crews remained until after 6 a.m., according to reports.

The cause of the fire was under investigation and no injuries were immediately reported.
