LOS ALAMITOS, CA — A Junior Varsity basketball high school coach made inappropriate advances to a 15-year-old player, the Garden Grove Police Department said. Now, he is on leave with the school and was released from custody after posting a $100,000 bond.

On Tuesday, the 51-year-old Garden Grove High School girls' junior varsity basketball coach was behind bars Tuesday after police said he was communicating with a 15-year-old girl over social media and asked her to send him provocative photos of herself.

Michael Engelmann, of Anaheim, was arrested around 1:30 p.m. Monday at the school, according to Sgt. Ray Bex of the Garden Grove Police Department.

School and district administrators were notified of the incident and Engelmann was immediately put on leave by school administrators, Bex said.
