It's National Puppy Day! So Gush About Yours!

At Patch, we love puppies every day, but especially today – National Puppy Day.

The observance got its start in 2006 to celebrate not only the “magic and unconditional love” that puppies offer, but also to spread awareness about puppy mills, according to founder Colleen Paige, an author and celebrity pet and home lifestyle expert.

The pup pictured above is Baxter, and he could be yours! He’s one of the many dogs available today at the Seal Beach Animal Care Center. Here’s what Baxter has to say for himself on the Center’s facebook page: “ I am a handsome, tall boy, although I am not as tall as a full Irish Wolfhound, but with the same good looks. And what a friendly boy I am! I love to play and spend time with everyone! I’m sure we would have so much fun together, because I can have fun with anyone! With my unique, adorable appearance, we will surely turn heads. In all honesty, I’m not sure how much Irish blood I have in me (it’s been suggested that maybe I’m a Labradoodle or a Wirehaired Pointing Griffon!), but for sure I will do a very happy Irish jig when I meet you, and especially if I am adopted to my forever home. If you like, I will happily be your “Danny “ boy.”
