UPDATE: Lakewood Man Arrested in Connection with Placentia Murder

A 26-year-old man was arrested in Lakewood, Calif. on Monday on suspicion of murdering a 19-year-old woman in Placentia.

LAKEWOOD, CA—A 26-year-old man was arrested in Lakewood, California on Monday in connection with the death of a 19-year-old woman.

According to reports, Placentia Police were called to the 900 block of South Placentia Avenue about 11:30 a.m. that day to assist an unconscious woman, according to reports. Police declined to reveal the cause of death or comment on the relationship between the victim and suspect, other than to confirm that they knew each other.

"It was a personal relationship versus a working relationship,'' Placentia police Capt. Eric Point said.

Police arrested Nicholas Lee Clark on suspicion of murder, in Lakewood, according to Placentia police Sgt. Brian Perry.

The victim was found, down and unresponsive in a commercial area of Placentia, California on Sunday, just before noon.

"Officers dispatched at 11:30 a.m. Sunday to the 900 block of South Placentia Avenue, in response to a 911 call," Perry said. "Paramedics rushed the woman to Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Anaheim."

The woman, later identified as Madeline Rose Mallory, was pronounced dead at 12:23 p.m. Sunday, according to the coroner's office.
