Los Al Police to Hold Promotion Ceremony for 4 Cops
Corporals Chris Karrer and Rick Moore will become sergeants, and Officers Kain Gallaugher and Paul Barbieri will become corporals.

Four local boys in blue will soon move up the ranks.
After the recent retirement of two longtime police sergeants, the Los Alamitos Police Department plans to hold a promotion ceremony for four officers Monday.
The Oath of Allegiance ceremony will take place at 4:30 p.m. in City Council Chambers at 3191 Katella Avenue.

Sgt. Sharon Kerbow retired last week and Sgt. Richard DeLeon retired the last week of June.
Corporals Chris Karrer and Rick Moore will be promoted to sergeant and will serve as watch commanders for their patrol teams. Officers Kain Gallaugher and Paul Barbieri will be promoted to corporal.

Chris Karrer
A 12-year veteran of the Los Al PD, Karrer has served as a patrol officer and detective. He has also worked as a field training officer and on the multi-agency Serious Traffic Accident Response Team. Karrer was the Los Al PD Officer of the Year in 2008.
Rick Moore
Moore has been with the police department since 2000 and has worked as a patrol officer and a detective. He has also coordinated personnel training, managed the pre-employment process for new officers and served as the city's coordinator for emergency preparedness. A field training officer, Rick was also member of the West County SWAT team. The Los Al PD named Moore officer of the year in 2004.
Kain Gallaugher
Gallaugher began his law enforcement career in 2006 when he became a Los Al PD officer. After working as a patrol officer, Kain has spent the last four years as the department’s motorcycle officer, emphasizing traffic safety. Kain also serves as a field training officer, member of the Serious Traffic Accident Response team, and is a member of West County SWAT. Gallaugher was the Los Alamitos Officer of the Year in 2011.
Paul Barbieri
A 12-year veteran of the Los Alamitos Police Department, Barbieri has served as a patrol officer and detective. A field training officer and member of the Serious Traffic Accident Response team, Barbieri was named Officer of the Year in 2009.
