Los Alamitos Area Fire Displaces Family Early Wednesday

A fire in a Los Alamitos area garage displaced a family from their home early Wednesday. Smoke damage has left the house unlivable, per OCFA

LOS ALAMITOS, CA — An Orange County family was displaced early this morning when a destructive garage fire also caused smoke damage to their Buena Park home, authorities said.

The fire was reported just after 3:30 a.m. in the 5800 block of Los Angeles Way, according to Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Larry Kurtz.

Arriving units discovered the garage attached to the home to well-involved.

"23 Firefighters were able to knock down the blaze in about 15 minutes," Kurtz said.

The fire was confined to the garage area but caused a great deal of smoke damage to the home, making it uninhabitable.

No one was injured in the fire. The cause remains under investigation.
