See These Los Alamitos High School Students Spread $15,300 Across The Community: VIDEO
An anonymous donation from a Los Alamitos business had one rule for these high school students: give it away, & spread joy $300 at a time.

LOS ALAMITOS, CA ā A local Los Alamitos business once again recognized the good work done by the Los Alamitos High School Associated Student Body program and asked them to go further to make the community a better place. An anonymous $15,3oo donation was divvied up among the 51 ASB students to bring joy to many, amazement to all, and teach them a bit about the joy of giving for giving's sake.
School Activities Director Tami Sciacca explained their task, gasps of amazement and a chorus of laughter rang out in the ASB classroom. The students learned they each had $300 to give away.
"What the heck?"

"Is this for real?"
The only parameters given by the unnamed company were that the students had to physically hand the gift to a person and tell them why they were giving it to them. Students wrote notes to the unidentified benefactors describing who they gave the money to, why they chose that person or persons, and how they felt after giving away the money.

"How grateful and thankful will you make others?" Sciacca asked of the students as they opened up the envelopes revealing the funds to make some Christmas magic.
This is not the first year that Los Alamitos has shared the love over the holidays. In 2018, a similar gift was granted to Sciacca's students, in what they then dubbed "The Grifting Season."
"It's an amazing opportunity. When are you handed $300 to go and make someone else's day? How Grateful and thankful is the person going to be when you say, 'I believe in you.'" Sciacca challenged them to work together or in groups, to donate little "campfires" or build big "bonfires" with the gifts.
In the touching video below, students are seen sharing the funds and paying it forward to people in the community and sharing hugs and meaningful conversation. Others drove to area malls, handing over small amounts or large bills, spreading the holiday magic.
In every case, (as seen in the below video) the recipient was stunned, startled and overcome with gratefulness. Hugs were shared, along with heartfelt thanks.
Los Alamitos Sophomore Sarah Hall, 15, gave her full $300 to a cafeteria employee at the school.
Worker Carolyn Kosearas has brightened up each day for the ASB student, who expressed her thanks as she handed over the envelope.
Kosearas' smile was visible in her eyes, as she learned of the gift, then embraced her benefactor.
"Last year, you made every one of my days the better, "Hall said to Carolyn Kosearas as she handed her full $300. The best part about it, Hall tells the OC Register, was how she "loved seeing (Kosearas's) face light up."
