Los Alamitos Child Exploitation, Assault Case Yields 1 Arrest: Cops

Los Alamitos Police arrested a 28-year-old Temecula resident suspected of child sexual assault in OC. Additional victims are being sought.

LOS ALAMITOS, CA — A Riverside County man was arrested this week in connection with a child exploitation case, Los Alamitos Police Department reported late Wednesday.

Chad Joseph Katz, 28, of Temecula, is being held on potential charges of lewd/lascivious acts with a child, rape of a victim under 16 with an offender over 21, and meeting a minor for sexual purposes, according to Officer Robert Acosta's report.

He is currently being held at Orange County Jail, and detectives have asked him to be held without bail. A court date has not yet been released as of this report.

On Nov. 6, a teenage girl reported she was a victim of a lewd and lascivious act, according to Acosta. Investigating officers discovered that she had fallen victim to "several sex crimes." The teen admitted that there were additional victims in this case, all of whom remained unidentified.

"We understand the sensitive nature of these crimes, and all information will be handled with the utmost confidentiality," Acosta said.

The department reiterated that they take their commitment to the well-being of children within the community seriously.

"We want to thank the dedicated investigators working on this case, and we remain committed to protecting the most vulnerable members of our society and holding offenders accountable."
