Los Alamitos High School graduate Jessica Byrd looking to win Guitar Center's Singer Songwriter Competition, and you can help!

You may remember Jessica Byrd from her senior year “Song of the Year” Award for her cover of Carrie Underwood’s “Temporary Home” at Los Alamitos High School’s emotional Pops choir show.

Now she’s up for an award on a bigger stage, “Guitar Center’s Singer Songwriter 4”—billed as “The search for the next great American singer songwriter.”

How can you help? By watching the video of Jessica’s new single “Where You Are” on Guitar Center’s competition website. You can also share the video from their site to your Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ social media pages by clicking the “share” button, which will help Jessica move up in the standings.

She’s doing really well in the competition already, within one week of entering, she is already in position 163 out of over 11,000 entrants! But now it’s time for some hometown support. She will need to be in the top 100 to get a look from the judges, and that will take over 1500 more views… so please view and share as much as possible.

If she wins this competition, along with national attention, she will receive a mentoring session with Colbie Caillat, studio time with her producer Don Was to record a 4-song EP, and a performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, along with equipment, and much more.
