Ruby's unveils a new burger for less than half price. Local job openings include aerospace, engineering, nursing, accounting and sales. And you can get good grub while helping the library or St. Isidore Historic Plaza.

½ Off Is the Secret Sauce: Ruby’s Diner celebrates its namesake’s 91st birthday Monday by offering its new NEXT GEN burger for $3.10. The new menu item features USDA Choice beef, lettuce, tomato, raw or grilled onions, a new freshly grilled artisan bun and a new sauce. After Monday, the NEXT GEN burger will sell for $7.99 at all Southern California locations for a limited time. The pier location may be closed, but there is still a Ruby’s nearby at Westminster and PCH in the Trader Joe’s shopping center.
Help the Library: Eat Pizza! Stop by Zpizza at 12430 Seal Beach Boulevard this Wednesday, Jul 31st, from 11:00am to 9:00pm, with a coupon from the Rossmoor-Los Alamitos library's checkout desk and ZPizza will contribute 25% of the sale to the Friends of the Library’s Front Porch Project..

Job Openings in Los Alamitos: Did you know Patch has a page for local job listings? You can find it here. This week, there are some decent ones including an opening for an accountant for a nonprofit in Los Alamitos with a salary range of $42-52K. There are also some aerospace, sales, account management, engineering, manufacturing and healthcare positions open in Los Alamitos this week.
Good Food, Good People, Good Cause: It’s true, there have been fewer food trucks at the Picnic at the Plaza lately on Thursdays in Los Alamitos, but the folks trying to save the St. Isidore Historic Plaza are keeping it lively with a wine and beer garden and live music all summer long. Foodies can bring their food truck finds to the plaza picnic tables or try out some of the tacos or tamales volunteers frequently cook up for the cause. The next musical performance will be this Thursday. Proceeds go to the effort to save the St. Isidore Historic Plaza.
